Last year, TRANSWAGGON was celebrating its 60th anniversary. In the mid-1960s, Udo-Wolfgang Benthin (1929–2015) came up with the innovative idea of coupling two 2-axle freight wagons to form a 3-axle wagon unit – an enormous competitive advantage in those days.
